A cool, rare DIY video from the legendary, once-underground Russian/Soviet rock band Aquarium (Аквариум), featuring vocalist Boris Grebenshikov (BG)/ Борис Гребенщиков (БГ), along with original members Dyusha Romanov and Sasha Titov — the perestroika-era song is «Dances on the Edge of Spring (Танцы на грани весны), from their self-recorded 1985 album, December’s Children (Дети Декабря).

Одна из лучших песен Аквариума… помню, как я, впечатлившись этим клипом, мчался по февральским -30и в одной короткорукавной рубашке и с Танцами в наушника, а потом месяц болел ))

I understand a little in Russian (ochen mali), but both of these songs were translated into English on the inner sleeve of the album.

I was born in Soviet Union, and for us this music was like a srteam of fresh air, more than only music, you know.
iriauchi, «Red Wave» was a vinyl double album released in the pre-perestroika mid-80′s, featuring four Russian bands (Aquarium, Kino, Alisa and one other which I forget at the moment). This was the first that most Americans had heard of Russian rock, which up until then was an underground phenomenon.
«Red Wave» anthology? It`s very interesting! Can you tell me more about it? Who are the other singers?
